But Toto is frightened and hides under the bed. Beneath the house is a small hole called a cyclone cellar, where they go when one of the many violent cyclones comes tearing through the plains. Their house is very small, just one room, which serves as kitchen, living room and bedroom. Dorothy lives in the midst of the great Kansas prairies in the United States of America with her Uncle Henry and her Aunt Em.
